According to Packaging Digest, Kimberly-Clark‘s limited-edition Huggies Little Movers Camo Diapers will bring in donations for Operation Homefront, which provides emergency assistance to military members and their families. The diapers, exclusive to Walmart, put the little ones in camo as part of the Huggies Every Little Bottom program, which donated up to 500,000 diapers to military families in 2011

Busy days in Shanghai. Since arriving July 6, I’ve been in meetings. First, I was at Touch Media where I presented a Mobius statuette for their 2011 work for Hugo Boss, and then on to Ogilvy for meetings with creatives, PR group, and senior management staff, followed by more meetings at AEIOU.
Dinner with Focus Media and then a few hours sleep before starting again on Friday with Allyes and then back to AEIOU to set up for the evening’s Mobius Sharing Event. It was a huge success thanks to the hard work by the staff of Global Brand Strategy magazine and not to forget Rachel’s outstanding support from Ogilvy PR.
The event attracted a huge crowd of creatives, along with comments about winning work from the Shanghai creatives. BTW, we started off the evening with a one-hour Twitter press conference that continued throughout the evening’s presentations. It was coordinated by Kevin & Jacky from Ignite. Way to go, everyone! And a special Thank You to Tony Liu and his partner for sponsoring the event in their offices at AEIOU.
Great team, great offices, great drink and food!

Mobius Party in Cannes!

Mobius Awards’ Photographer of the Year, Amsterdam resident Erwin Olaf, received his “Best” statuette February 28

delivered in person by Mobius Chairman Lee Gluckman. During

an interview, Olaf said his idea of photography was a combination of “technical skills, fantasy and a little bit of undefined emotion.” Lately, he has been drawn to staged photography where the photographer “can control everything and create 100 percent your own world.” He also has developed an interest in carbon printing, which dates to the 1900s. Sushi with a fine cinematographer

Yesterday, Feb 3, I had the great pleasure of visiting with Franz Lustig, the Mobius 2010 Cinematographer of the Year, while he was working in L.A. Between bites of sushi, we talked about the fabulous qualities and benefits of working in film – “The only way to go,” said Franz. (Franz only shoots stills with a film camera, too, (it wasn’t even motorized) – which he was busy using during our lunch).

Since I’m an old school film person myself, I couldn’t have agreed more. He even shoots film at home of his young son’s activities and shows them on a film projector. Franz is part of that generation of younger DOPs that love the old school way of doing things when working on a production. He also spends part of his busy schedule doing seminars for young film students about the real world of film vs. the digital world. Directors love Franz because he is always bringing his inspiration and creativity to the set regardless of the type of production.

I’m looking forward to seeing him in Berlin on April 5 when I and Pierre Dechavanne, Kodak Germany, will be presenting him with the Cinematographer of the Year award. Met him at Irori in Marina del Rey. To be continued . . .(Lee Gluckman)

Online Judging Underway

Mobius judging, except for Book/Brochure and Packaging, is now in progress using an online system from Beam.TV. The system is designed to make the experience more convenient for judges, and it is working! Corinne Burns Bruno of Italy wrote:
